MIDI Visualizer

Play MIDI files in the browser with a nice real-time visualization inspired by samizdat's fuguestate. Drag and drop a MIDI file or click to select one from your computer.

For now this works best with simple MIDI files of at most a few thousand notes (files less than 10kB). If you see a sad face after loading a file than it was too big and the browser gave up creating the canvas buffer.

or try a sample like super mario theme or pirate of the caribbean (loaded directly from BitMidi).

Inspiration

This project was inspired by samizdat drafting co. / fuguestate, a visual exploration of Bach's musical compositions. His original midi file can be downloaded from his website at this link: bwv-578.mid (even if for the current architecture of the visualizer this may be a bit laggy).
